Manikarnika controversy: Kangana Ranaut hit back by Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh
Lokendra Singh Kalvi, the chief of Karni Sena has slammed Kangana Ranaut for using the name of the Karni Sena in the interest of the film. He has said that Karni Sena has no issues with the film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Karni Sena chief has alleged that the people have been using the name of the Karni Sena in order to vest interests out of it. Recently, there were rumours that the members of the group have threatened to damage the property and theatres if they are not given the right to approve the film before its release.Kangana Ranaut had given a strong response to such criticisms and violent reactions towards the film by saying that the film has got approved by eminent historians but even after that she is getting harassed by such threats, She said that she too would take strong actions if any such incident happens in the future. The actress has been very busy days with the promotions of the movie which is very near to its release date.

In an interaction with the India Toda, Karni Sena chief said, ‘Karni Sena does not have any objection to Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, because no one has raised any concern with us, neither from the family nor from the community or region. Either people from Jhansi or Brahmins or family members should have an objection. Problem toh wahaan se khadi hoti na? How am I concerned?’ Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is a historical periodic drama which is going to be released on January 25, 2019. Kangana Ranaut will be portraying the lead role of the Queen of Jhansi Rani Lakhsmi Bai in the film. The film also happens to be Kangana’s directorial debut in Bollywood.
